Monthly Goals: September

August was a bit of a crazy month for me and I completely fell behind on blogging (including posting my monthly goals). But, I'm back in full force, ready to tackle the month of September! First off though, can you believe it's September already!? 2012 is simply FLYING by and before you know it, it'll be 2013. What an insane thought! Well here are my goals for September. There are quite a few.

September Goals:
1. Stay organized and be on top of readings for class
2. Rock my internship at CalTort and keep pushing myself
3. Do the best that I can at my e-board position with Alpha Kappa Psi
4. Write more handwritten letters
5. Intentionally pray for myself and friends
6. Get back into a normal workout routine
7. Stay in touch with friends
8. Drink lots of pumpkin spice lattes
9. Give myself a break and breathe every once in awhile
10. POSITIVE THINKING

Who's ready for all-things fall? Pumpkin spice lattes, cardigans, changing colors, gorgeous DC scenery, cooler weather, boots, and most importantly FOOTBALL!

Alpha Kappa Psi Lovin'

Hardcore procrastination currently taking place. Instead of writing/studying/creating the 5 papers, 2 presentations, and 2 exams that I have due within the next 2 weeks, I am creeping on Facebook and Twitter soaking in pictures and updates about initiation.

Congratulations to Beta Nu for their hardwork and WELCOME to the best Brotherhood on campus: Alpha Kappa Psi--Lambda Nu chapter. Wear those letters proudly because you all deserve them!

While stalking all the statuses and pictures, I couldn't help but feel nostalgic! I miss my Strong Family and line so much. My life feels a bit less exciting without them around me. There's never a dull moment when with the Strong Fam ladies!

My line! Big, Me, Little (cMm), and GLittle

LOVE my Big! (why is my hand awkwardly bent? i'm not sure)

Entire extension of our line. Pretty sure I've posted this picture before but I'm in love with it, so it's going up again!

Miss the Brotherhood but I especially miss my family members! Can't wait to be reunited with these ladies VERY soon.

Back to paper-writing I go...

***Totally aware I haven't blogged in almost a week! I've been swamped. Double-post later tonight?***

Strong Family

One of the things on my long list of things I miss is my Alpha Kappa Psi family. Oh Strong Family how I miss each and every one of you. The ENTIRE family (we are quite massive) is wonderful. Each member is so talented, intelligent, ambitious, and genuine. I do however miss my own family line the most. I have been with some of these ladies since fall of my sophomore year and we have continued to grow every semester. This past Thursday we welcomed three AMAZING new members into the family and one of them is in my own very family line. I have been adamantly stalking my new GGLittle Janina via Facebook. Y'all she is wonderful and most definitely Strong material. Can't wait to meet this girl!

So long ago! From left to right: Biggie (Kendall), Twin (Julia), and Me!

The family keeps growing! Left to Right: GLittle (Shannon), Little (cMm), Me and Big (Kendall)

Our line within the Strong family sans Julia! Welcome Shannon and Kathryn!

Probably my fave picture of us. It's also probably one of the only times we've ALL been together. So glam. ...and I am quite short.

Miss you girls SO much. My life feels a little less filled with laughter without you all by my side. Can't wait for our reunion this summer and to truly welcome Janina into the family. MISS YOU!

Valentine's Day and First Day Interning

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day! I know for a fact that when I start having a family of my own and have kids, Valentine's Day will be a big thing in my household. Decorations, sweets, cute things EVERYWHERE. No doubt about that! This time last year I was having so much fun decorating my Little's (who is currently studying in London for the semester!) room for Big/Little week. I remember distinctly emailing her the night before/the morning of Valentine's Day and warning her that I will be vomiting Valentine's Day all over her room. The stress of that week was well worth it though. I absolutely loved spoiling her and to say that I'm in love with her is an understatement. She's FANTASTIC and so happy that she is in the Strong Family.

Few Highlights from Little's Big/Little Week Last Year

Didn't know how to rotate the picture so just tilt your head. First night was My Favorite Things night. Yes, those are mix CDs hanging from the ceiling.

Valentine's Day! Red velvet cupcakes+Nutella+strawberries. PERFECTION. And plus some mini valentine's around the room.

Beach night! This was definitely an adventure. I brought along my friend Kelsey that night and had some fun!

My Little Claire (cMm) and I at last year's Unity. Yup, total coincidence that we're both wearing black lace dresses. We were simply meant to be. Miss this girl so much!

This Valentine's Day was spent in Beijing interning and skyping with friends! As some of you may know, today was my first day interning at Octagon. It wasn't a full day but still, I went into the office! It was quite a commute (about an hour or so) and it was my FIRST Beijing rush hour traffic commute experience. I totally forgot to take a picture of the metro today because there are absolutely no words to describe the volume of people on the Beijing metro. You are packed in like a sardine and you can barely move even a millimeter. People push you onto the car and people push you off the car. You simply have to go with the flow of things I guess. To say I was overwhelmed just doesn't cover it. But, I love my office, the staff, and the environment. I'm going to be working on some awesome projects and helping with one of the company's biggest accounts. Oh, and did I mention occasional free concerts?

OOTD for my first day interning! (sorry mom that my back is slouched. I'll have better posture next time!)

Back to preparing my presentation about Apple and the Fair Labor Association auditing...in Chinese. OH, and sorry I've steered off from my Tuesday Tunes and Pinterest Wednesday schedule. I'll have a combined post tomorrow!
